Legal Question in Employment Law in Maryland

I turned in my resignation and was subsequently let go, because my former employer considered my new employer a "direct competitor." However, several lawyers have stated that my non-compete is unenforceable for several reasons, one of which is that I'm going from an Accounting Position to an IT position. My former employer is trying to take away my PTO claiming that I was terminated for cause for accepting a position with a competitor. Would I be able to fight this?

It would be difficult to answer without viewing your employment agreement and the clauses stated in the agreement. Whether you can fight it or not will all depend on what is written and how it it is written.
