Legal Question in Immigration Law in Michigan

Hello Sir,
I am holding a valid Green Card in USA.It is a Green Card issued during the year 1985 and it does not have an expiration on it.My question is without renewing the green card can I travel to and fro from USA as the green card is still active.I am planning to visit my parents in India soon.Please reply me as soon as possible.Waiting for the reply.

Your greencard is actually expired. You must file form I-90 & obtain a new, extended greencard before you can travel outside the United States.

You can find out more information on filing the I-90 at www.uscis.gov. Under "forms", click on "I-90".
