Legal Question in Employment Law in Missouri

Is it legal to deny a rehabilitated ex-felon a position of employment based solely on their criminal past? Would you cite sources please? I don't intend for the question to be limited to my state, is there a federal law on the subject or is it state by state?

Depending upon the type of work to be performed, it is not illegal for an employer to choos ento to employ a convicted felon. It is unclear waht you mean by "ex-felon." Perhaps you meant ex-convict" Until the conviction is expunged, the person remains a felon. Rehabilitation is wonderful, but it does not seem to put any extra onus on an employer to make an exception to a policy not to hire.

Good luck
