Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada

marriage application

If my fiancee and I apply for a marriage certificate in Nevada, will the clerk of courts run a background check on my fiancee to see if he is still married or if he has been married and divorced before in another state?

The Clerks do dozens of marriages a day and do not have time to check for prior marriages. If there is one and you marry you could be charged with bigamy which is a felony.
