Re: court appearance box

Our system isn't always fair. The more important question is how will you handle this? I suggest you get an attorney to handle this for you. The charges were serious to begin with and you didn't do yourself any favors by missing the date.

My initial consultations are always free, so call me at 732/247/3340 to discuss your case.

On the back of your traffic summons is the telephone number of the municipal court. Call and advise the court of what happened so that the warrant can be withdrawn.

Secondly, allowing an unlicensed driver to use your car has the same penalty as your driving while unlicensed. You need to hire an attorney. The attorney should be able to make everything right for you.

Call me if you like.

Re: court appearance box

It does not sound fair to me, so I advise you to call the court and complain about this. They will probably lift the warrant. The penalties for the charge you received are pretty severe, so I wold suggest you consult with an attorney before going to court on this case. I am an attorney who has handled many cases similar to yours in various courts throughout New Jersey in the past. Please contact me to discuss your case in more detail. I never charge for simply talking to a person about their case. Thank you.

Re: court appearance box

First, if you were driving on the roadway with other drivers (not driving around an area where you could hit anyone) and if you knew the other driver was unlicensed, I have no sympathy for you. Did you plead guilty and pay the ticket? If so and you didn't think you had to appear, then call the court and explain the confusion, and ask them to lift the warrant and re-schedule you for court. The rules are the rules, but it is only fair that you be told the rules, and you said the box for a required appearance was not checked. If you just ignored the court date, then you were just stupid, in which case, call the court and tell them you were dumb and just forgot to put it on your calendar, and again, ask them to lift the warrant, and re-schedule you.
