Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

license suspended

My license was supsended earlier this year for unpaid tickets. 2 of the tickets carried a warrent so i paid them and then paid the restoration fee. recently i was caught driving with a suspended license. i assumed my license was restored but there were 3 other parking tickets that kept it from being reinstated. what are my options when i go to court

Re: license suspended

A driving while suspended ticket carries a high fine, potentially some jail time (up to 10 days if you have convicted before) and up to 6 months loss of your driving privileges. There are ways to decrease these penalties. I was in court last Wednesday on a case just like yours and I was able to change the very high fines, jail time, and loss of license my client was facing to a charge that carried a $100 fine only. Based on what you are writing it seems that I could do the same in your case. Please contact me to discuss your case in more detail. I never charge for simply talking to a person. Thank you.

Re: license suspended

A reasonable belief that your license was restored when you paid the restoration fee might work.

Re: license suspended

I suggest you get an attorney to help you. I think you are going to have a tough time by yourself to prove that you thought your DL was not suspended. I would need more info here though to really develop a defense for trial.
