if you dont go to workers comp doctor can you still claim benefits when you have a traumatic injury

You don't HAVE to go to the workers compensation doctor, but if you want your medical bills to be paid for then you need to go to him. The workers compensation insurer does not have to pay for any medical bills for doctors they don't send you to and if your regular medical insurer finds out that the treatment was for a work related injury, then they don't have to pay the bills either.
