Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

Salary Withheld for Lack of Notice

I resigned my company with just 1 day notice. My 14 day salary has been witheld, for not giving 2 weeks notice to my employer.

I read the agreement that I had signed when I joined this company, there is no line which says that a 2 week notice was required. Can I demand my 2 weeks salary.

Re: Salary Withheld for Lack of Notice

That depends on whether you actually worked the 2 weeks. If you did the work, you're entitled to be paid for it. If you're looking to be paid for time you're not in the office, you're not entitled to it.
