What is the statute of limitations for filing assault charges in New York State?

I assume you mean a physical assault with resulting injury. If so, this is an intentional tort and generally a one-year statute of limitations applies. IF the assault was by a police or peace officer, there may be a notice of claim requirement, the filing of which must precede the start of the lawsuit. Good luck. Best, M. E. Zuller
