Collection Agency Garnishment

A collection agency has served a garnishment order against me, but not the original debtor. What rights do I have in fighting this garnishment, and is it legal for a collection agency to force compliance?

Re: Collection Agency Garnishment

The collection agency may garnish you if they have obtained a judgment against you. However, it cannot pursue a garnishment in its own name, unless it is the party who obtained the judgment against you.
