Legal Question in Employment Law in Pennsylvania

Job Termanation

On my employment application it asked, ''Have you ever been convicted of a crime?'' ( A conviction will not necessarily be a bar to employment and factors such as age and time of the offence, and seriousness and nature of the violation, and rehabilitation will be taken into account.)

I had told them yes that I have been convicted of a crime and gave them my most recent conviction, because it was only asking for one crime. At my interview I talked to the asstaint manager about this conviction, and she didn't ask me if I had any other convictions, so I didn't bring the other one up. After a couple days I spoke to the manager, about the other conviction, he took in the factors and said it was fine. Well three months later the company I work for did a back ground check on me, and the other conviction came up. The regional manager called and asked my manager if I put the conviction on my application. My manager told him no, so the regional manager told him to fire me. The reason dishonesty, falsification or misrepresentation on my application for employment. My manager told him that I spoke to him about that conviction, and he didn't want to hear it.

My question is can they do this, I didn't lie because I told them yes.

Re: Job Termanation

A number of factors will determine your remedies. Did the application have more than one space under convictions? Will the manager admit under oath that you told him about the other convictions? I offer free consultations.
