Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Guardianship

I gave guardianship to my aunt and uncle when I was going through a rough period. I have always had contact with my children. My 15 yr old daughter wants me to cancel the guardianship so that she can come and live with me. What do I do?

Re: Guardianship

Is this a court-ordered guardianship? If so, I strongly encourage you to get a lawyer. Have you talked to the aunt and uncle? If they oppose the change, you should consult with a lawyer as well. Sometimes the word guardianship is used loosely. If this is merely an out-of-court agreement between you and the relatives, and they are in agreement, then you can just agree to the changes.
