financial responsibility of a spouse
My sister in Virginia wants to know what liability she has for debts incurred by her husband, in his own name, since their marriage.

More information would be required as to the precise circumstances under which these various debts were incurred by the one spouse and for what purposes before this question could be answered with any reliability (in my opinion).
