Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia

My 20 year old son was pulling into his work parking lot, (dominos pizza) he scraped a car of a fellow employee, he went in and told her and nothing else was said. He states is was just a scrape. Now a week later the owner is demanding money, states she has a appraisal for 700.00. She also went into the work computer and got his insurance info. I really feel she is trying to get more money than is do? 1. At what point do we take this further, I offered to pay her 350.00. 2. Is it against the law for her to have gotten his insurance info for work computer without him knowing?

1. You have a right to demand that this "scrapee" provide two written estimates for the repair of the damage. (Mere verbal statements are not sufficient.)

2. No. (However, whether she violated company policy regarding the retrieval of such information would appear to be an issue between her

and the company---in my opinion.)
