Legal Question in Immigration Law in Virginia

How to get the Green Card?

I came to America with R-1 visa at the end of 2003. And during that time, I went back to Mongolia for 21 days and when I entered USA again, immigration office stamped me 3 more years of I-94. So after being here for about 6 years in America on R-1 visa, my church had some situation that they didn't sponsor my Green card.

And my husband has changed his visa status (he came with R-1 visa and we are from same church), to F-1. He is studying ESL now and I'm F2. It's been about the year since we had changed our visa status.

I would like to know if is it possible for my church to sponsor my Green card while my husband is on F1 and I'm on F2 status? Or do we have to be on R-1 visa in order to be sponsored by church?

No, R-1, R-2 status required for the two of you in order for church to sponsor you for lawful permanent residency, I believe.
