Legal Question in Family Law in Wisconsin

Name Change of a Minor Child

My daughter would like her last name changed and I have a court appearance next week. Can her father object to the name change? Does the judge then make a decision? How difficult is it to get it changed? My ex husband (child's father) is in jail for 4 counts of felony burglary. He is a cocaine user and my daughter wants no association with any of that. Most of his family is in criminal trouble.

Re: Name Change of a Minor Child

It's really all a matter of giving the judge good and sufficient reasons why the change is desired. It sounds to meloike you've got at least one great reason!
