Parental rights

If a child turns 17 years old and the father has legal custody of him and when the child turns 17 he decides that he wants to live with the mother and leaves his father without telling the father until he reaches the mothers house to tell his father what he has done and then the mother tries to get the child into school but she is unable to get the paper work from the other school because the father refuses to sign off for the papers to be sent to the other school is there any thing that she can do to get the child into school without having the father sign the papers? If there is aany way that she can get him into school by her being the childs motherand that he is 17 years old?

You need to see a lawyer. Once a court has awarded custody, only a court can change that custody. In this case you want co operation from a custodial parent. The court can order than. This is occuring at a bad time of the year. South Carolina Courts are limited in funds, courts are running at 50% as to court time, and you are in the Christmas season. YOu may be able to get a temporary order of custody to enter the child in school, but the real trick is to get the time in court scheduled as soon as possible. You cannot do this on your own.
