power of attorney

my sister got POA while my mother was in the hospital w/ a stroke. My mother had to go back to the hospital because she fell at the rehab she was in, & while at the Hospital, I got a POA, notarized & all. Does that releas my younger sister of her POA?

Re: power of attorney

It depends upon the terms of the POA made appointing you as her agent. It also depends upon proof that the new POA was validly executed, witnessed and notarized.

If you are in conflict with your sister, it would be important to obtain legal counsel and review of the documentation, particularly if the POA was a form provided by the hospital (which are written to serve the needs of the hospital, not the needs of the patient).
