Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Termination question

I was fired by my employer.I was accused of harrassment at work.I work in a union shop.I noticed contract violations.I called the union .They came in for at least 3 weeks to check out the violations.I also passed out a couple of union cards to some outside workers. My boss became very angry with me. He and his cohorts at work retaliated againt me. They had outside vendors write false statements about me. I was suspended from work. My boss said I was harrassing the vendors .He made a big deal about me calling the union and passing out union cards. I was also accused of calling the vendors the N word. Which is course completely false. When I went to the company office to speak with labor relations on my suspension I got fired. Once again they made a big deal about me calling the union and passing out union cards. They believe the 2 vendors story about me using the N word. The vendors were asked by the manager at my location to write negative statements about me.As negative as possible. My character has been very damaged. This has put me and my family under a great deal of stress. Mental and financial. It has almost been 6 months and I've gotten nowhere in getting help. My union gave up helping me. What should I do?

Re: Termination question

Either give up like the union, or hire your own attorney to step into the place of the union. He will be limited to the same rules, procedures and remedies as the union, but at least he'll be working in your best interests. You gave up your right to sue the company when you joined the union. Once the union takes any good faith grievance action for you, no matter how lame, you can not sue the company or the union.
