Legal Question in DUI Law in Kansas

I have a DUI(2nd one)from 2009 in KS. At the time i was told i could either sell my car or get an ignition interlocking device installed. I live in MO now and they are telling me that my license is still suspended bc i never got the interlocking device. I know that State law trumps County law, etc... I also realize it was prob my lawyers fault for not explaining it better to me. I am curious if this suspension ever runs out over time or if i should just get the device installed now?

You may be able to apply to the state if Kansas to end your suspension.
