Legal Question in Elder Law in New Jersey

My Sister has been taking care of my elderly father, living with him. It was brought to my attention she went and got POA over his belongings. Then I was told she bought his home for $1 and now is on the deed for his house as owner. She has also depleted his savings with so-called household enhancement. Is there any recourse before she ups and sells his home and places him in some substandard home. When he signed POA over he was having bouts with pre-dementia.

Your sister is not doing what she is supposed to do, which is use the POA to take care of your father. You can go to court and ask for someone to be appointed as guardian for your father, and force her to explain in court what she has done.

I have done this kind of legal action many times for my clients.

There is a lot at risk here, and you do not want to lose all of that.

You need a lawyer to sit down with you and give you some advice.

I can explain things in detail in person after we talk. I will explain what legal issues I see, and what I can do to assist you.

This will be a free consultation. After we talk, you can decide what you would like to do.

Give me a call, make an appointment to come see me, and let's get moving on this for you. No charge for the telephone call and no charge for the first office visit.
