Legal Question in Employment Law in North Carolina

I work for a Walmart Supercenter were normal scedule work hours are 8 hour shifts. Now they have scedule us to work a 12 hour shift, regardless of our availability. What are our rights?

Unfortunately, not many. North Carolina is a right to work state with few rights for employees. If your employer forces you to work overtime, you are required to work them but get time and a half for the hours over 40 hours worked in a week.

If you quit, you may have an argument for why you deserve unemployment benefits, but there is no legal right to refuse overtime.
