Legal Question

Voluntary transfer of legal custody

My daughter gave me and my husband legal custody of her son in june of 2004 i loss my job and unemploymemnt said i cant claim him as a dependent because my name is not on the birth certicate.And i did not adopt him is this correct.

Re: Voluntary transfer of legal custody You should consult an accountant, but I believe the only issue for tax purposes ...
